Wedding Receptions in the Romantic Devon Countryside
High Bickington Community Centre is a countryside venue in North Devon available to hire for Wedding Receptions. You can opt to hire the whole venue to ensure exclusive use for your wedding party or to hire a single hall or function room. The Community Centre is set in large grounds with beautiful views across Devon, Exmoor, Bodmin and Dartmoor which could also provide the perfect location for your outdoor or marquee wedding.
Our Main Hall is our most popular space for holding Wedding Receptions. It has a wooden sprung floor for you and your guests to dance the night away in style, a portable stage for bands and DJs, as well as a hatch through to the kitchen which provides easy access for caterers. The main hall can comfortably sit between 120 and 200 wedding guests, depending on the layout of tables and chairs.
Our tranquil location make for a picturesque rural venue for your wedding. Even though we’re only 10 miles from Barnstaple and 30 miles from Exeter, you’ll really feel like you’ve escaped to a country idyll for your special day.
Live Music and Bands
The Main Hall has a portable stage (6m x 5m) that can be arranged in various different set ups within the room for a live band or DJ. Our licensing hours for live music are:
Sunday to Thursday 10:00am – Midnight
Friday & Saturday 10:00am – 1:00am
New Year’s Eve 10:00am – 2.00am
Licenced for the Sale of Alcohol
The venue is fully licensed for the sale of alcohol during the hours:
Sunday to Thursday: 10:00am – Midnight
Friday and Saturday 10:00am – 1:00am
New Year’s Eve 10:00am – 2.00am
We allow guests to provide their own mobile bar. The large foyer/reception area may be used to create a separate bar area, giving you more space in the function room itself.
Please note that large public functions are required to provide their own licensed door staff.
